Description 1) Tensors: co/contra variant tensors,contraction, Levi-civita symbols. 2) Fluid mechanics: Continuity and Euler equations, Navier-Stokes equation for viscous fluids, stokes solution in various geometries, drag, vorticity, stream lines. If times permits, surface (capilary) waves. 3) Elasticity: Stress, Strain, constitutive equation, shear, extension,torsion,bending, examples in various geometries and boundary conditions. 4) Free energy of continuum media: polymer, membrane, liquid-crystals andfluctuations (if time permits).
